quote:

Alex Collins saw the invitation from the Chester County Sheriff on the department's Facebook page, he jumped at the chance and wrote a letter. In it, 9-year-old Alex said he doesn't have anyone to teach him to hunt. "It's just me and my Mom and she's too sick to do stuff," the note explained. "She has a bad heart. I think you are really nice to do this. I hope you pick me to go." The boy hand-delivered the letter to the Sheriff's Office, the only problem, he lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania and the invitation was from the sheriff in Chester County, South Carolina.

Stories like this restore the little faith I have left in humanity.

Great story, Chester isn't far from where I grew up.

Good to see Law Enforcement make the news for stuff like this.

Very cool the of SC Sheriff. I have to ask the obvious though. Wasn't there someone in the Chester PA sheriff's office that could have taken this boy under their wing and take him hunting. While a one time trip down to SC to hunt is cool wouldn't a local mentor/friend to teach him hunting and the outdoors and take him on a regular basis be cooler? I think the folks in PA missed a great opportunity to make a difference in a kid's life.

I'm confused, what are we supposed to be outraged about? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely mad about this, I just need to know why.

Yes it would.
Camouflage , a dip, some boots, a Budweiser and redneck/Ebonic accent is where it's at.

Saw this story earlier. Awesome gesture that is newsworthy. Just one question... does anybody know who paid for the flight? If they said, I don't remember from the story/video.
