Fireworks in Baton Rouge: ok to light?

So I read that fireworks in Baton Rouge are illegal to light. I get it. But how pervasive is it and do cops look the other way? Was only going to fire off a few mortars.

Then you're good. I'm not sure if fireworks are illegal on the city level or parish wide. If you're out in the middle of central, go ahead. I'll be shooting off plenty of fireworks myself tomorrow night, granted I'll be at my parents' house in St. Amant rather than my house in the Garden District

Well I'm in EBR parish and yes I understand they are illegal but I don't care. Our houses are not close and I live on a lake so at night the past few nights my kids and I have enjoyed sparklers and Roman candles.
I have little ones and they like the colorful stuff. I personally don't care people have a problem with it. Nothing I shoot is loud. All the Roman candle stuff is shot over the lake so it can't burn anything.
I actually have had the SO called out for it a few years ago due to a homeowner across the lake that sucked but has since moved out. The deputy came out. He saw what I was doing, hung out for a while and ate a burger and drank a coke. He said it's sad a neighbor had a problem with it and then drove off without any problem.
I also respected what he was doing and was nice about him coming out so that probably had a lot to do with me getting a cool response. And no my dogs were not shot

Few mortors would be fine. Less than 10? More than that and you will get an ebr sheriffs visit. One visit is fine. Just don't make them come back
Small bottle rockets are usually okay if you don't shoot them at each other.
