I know in the past when teams dictated if they would allow the Hard Knocks crew in to film, the Saints seemed like one of the least likely scenarios given Payton's/Loomis's terse nature with the media. Anyone else thinking that the Saints would be the ideal team to target from a pure entertainment aspect?

You have an established team, far enough removed from a Super Bowl and yet close enough to previous season's drama to pique the interest of the viewer. They'd also fit the mold based on some of the previous choices (they tend to target middle of the pack sort of teams). You have the closest thing a small market team can have to starlets of the NFL in Brees and Graham. Also if Rob Ryan holds on another season they'd be keen to focus in on that relationship.

I'd say they'd be a top three choice if I were a producer. What do you guys think?

Would it be good for TV? Absolutely.
Would it be good for the Saints?
Absolutely not.

Fun to watch? Sure, maybe...

Good for the team? Highly doubt it.

Let me say I agree it's not a great thing for the Saints. I am just pointing out that they're a pretty easy choice from an objective POV. Just something else to think of in case this turns into an awkwardly silent off-season.

Hard Knocks is harmless and if this team couldn't handle something like that, we have serious problems.

Yes to both. But they changed it last year, they have a contract with the NFL and from what I understand the producers and the NFL office come to an agreement to film a certain team and they simply do it. Regardless of what Payton wants, if the powers at be want it to happen it simply will.

A team can't be forced to do it if they have either a new Head Coach, or have made the playoffs in the last two years. Being that we were in the playoffs last year, it won't be us. But, I do agree that if we were eligible, we would have to be a top choice.

ETA: A team also cannot be forced if it appeared on the show within the last 10 years. It will be interesting to see what teams actually qualify to be forced this year.

So if we miss the playoffs next year, the Saints are eligible and Payton can be forced to do it. Good information to know.

Would seem a boring team.
CSP is a robot.
Most players are not characters.
I think the whole show would end up following Rob Ryan.
Pass.

Well they did the Jets twice for the show, and they did seem to enjoy filming the candy fiend Rex Ryan.

Maybe add JR. to the list.
I don't think the world is ready for kenny just yet.

I don't understand this school of thought. Coaches and Players should not be bothered by cameras. People that say that "cameras in their faces is a distraction", I think are retarded. They have cameras in their face all the time and every Sunday during the season.

Or in other words, if cameras are going to be a distraction, good luck, your team already sucks.

Well Atlanta ended up better than us this season, so it can't be all that bad.

Serious question: does a team/owner have the right to deny being featured? Sorry if someone already answered.

They sure are. In Republic Niteclub.
I took a shot with Cam and told him good luck this year.

Ended up with 7 sacks.

I take blame.
