What is going on with Chief? Are the Aggies outbidding us?

The ones under contract. Like BDP and Les

Others signed before prep began. Chavis was holding off to see what happened with Michigan, but that went into bowl preparation. He'll sign when he gets back.

I hope you're right. Something is weird here. I think Chavis might be gone to Aggieland. If that's the case, LSU fuuuuuucked.

This is how I see it. Assuming nothing crazy happens with Michigan, Chavis should sign after the bowl.

I saw him today at the coaches luncheon for the Music City Bowl and he was very friendly and chummy with Les. They sat at the same table and lunch and seemed to be getting along quite well.

I did see a TN State Trooper come up to him and say something in his ear (Probably trying to get him back to TN) or thanking him for his time at UT but he looks very focused on ND and Coach Brian Kelly even complimented him by saying it was going to be very difficult to go up against a Chavis coached Defense given that nothing will surprise him as a coach and there's not much he hasn't already seen.

Chavis is more important to this team than Miles.

I mean, if they're offering him 2 million to be DC and we're still only giving him 1.3, he may indeed jump.

I don't get it from a career standpoint though. We've got the talent to make a run and he'd have to rebuild at Aggieland.

We run an offense conducive to being incredible on D. Aggies don't.

It wouldn't make much sense for sure unless there's trouble in paradise between he and Miles. You would think at this point in his career he wouldn't move and completely change his life for 500k since he's already loaded.

Yep. If we lose chavis, we lose a LOT of recruits in '15 and '16 and Miles has to make a replacement hire EXTREMELY late in the process and we get to watch a Jennings led offense for the next 2 years with no Chavis D to help keep the games close. We could be partying like it's 1999 without Chavis.

I agree something does not smell right here. I am starting to get a little worried with the Aggies not having signed a DC yet and we know they have made overtures to Chavis. I wasn't worried at first because the rumor is Chavis is getting ready to retire not take on new challenges but the longer this goes on without him signing the more worried I am starting to get that TAMU might be an issue here.

Don't have to take my word for it but he wants to be up around 1.6 for multi years (similar to what Muschamp just got and what Cam is getting paid next season). I don't think there are any issues with this and should be done when the team returns from Nashville.

If we lose him over money, Miles and Alleva need to be fired and just let us start over because this whole program will crumble and is garbage without Chavis.
