Any advice on ACOG vs Aimpoint PRO?
Will be using for recreational shooting, short distances, and of course, the Zombies.

Nikon P 223 3x32 150
Trijicon ACOG 4x32 1300

The glass on the Nikon is more than enough for what you'd use a mid-range optic for. I have one that goes on mine and at 200 yards it's as accurate as I could ask for. I can't see spending 1000 more dollars on something when the cheaper version can hit 6 inch plates in rapid succession at 200 every time.

can't go wrong with either, but of the 2 you mentioned i would go with the aimpoint. red dots work a little better in close quarters and will make for quicker target acquisition, and still give you the ability to shoot out to 200yds. plus you could add a magnifier behind it if you wanted

I prefer a 1-4x scope for most ar setups, but can't go wrong with those either.

It's hard for me to justify spending 1200$ on optics. ACOGs are the shite though

Ok lemme throw this into the equation.
I have 2 eotechs already on other rifles, and budget isn't an issue. I Just want nice glass.

i got a Trueglow reflex site for mine but was really getting ready to buy.

Will probably be my next buy. Had 3 guys at BP saying they had these and loved them.

I have an aim point pro with the primary arms 3x magnifier. It does its job and glass is pretty clear. Primary arms carries the aim point pro as well.

That's a really strong assertion. I find that the average person would have a tough time connecting at even 100 yards with a red dot. Maybe something as large as a pig but at 200 yards it's considerably smaller.

For the OP, if I had two guns that already had un-magnified (1x) red dots (your two EOtechs) I would opt for a low power scope. Personally, I like 2-7x scopes for the true extended range of using magnification.

EDIT: But I'll add that the Aimpoint PRO is pretty sweet. I have one on my ACR.

If I had the money I'd get an ACOG. Carried one for two deployments and loved it. If I were to choose the model it would be the 4x32 ACOG/RMR combo. Best of both worlds - 4x amplification with mil drop and a red dot on top for reflexive fire.

Agreed. Great bang for the buck.
