Is a call to Jimbo the first one LSU makes after Miles retires?

At least if that's in the next 5 years or so. Jimbo is 49 right now.

The whole Jimbo/LSU story was pretty intriguing.

Probably and I think he would like the opportunity to come back to LSU and be in the SEC.

I doubt he would want to come back after the next several years.

Hellto the YES we better call Jimbo. I guess Bertman wanted a Head Coach with experience at the time. If I was LSU's AD , I would be in constant contact with JImbo's agent from here on out.

There is a national talking head perception that Jimbo/FSU is an NCAA violations dumpster fire waiting to happen. I hear it all the time on the national radio shows. If his reputation is intact in five years though, I'm sure he'd be on the short list.

Doubt he would make a lateral move to play in a tougher conference.

You must have boring life if you have nothing better to do in the holiday season than wonder about what happens in a supposed LSU coaching search five years from now!

Why should LSU contact him when he has already called them?

I can't see it. In three years, Jimbo will either be pushed out at FSU or he will be very entrenched there.

No.

By that time the hot name will be some other up-and-coming flavor of the month. Probably a position coach or coordinator right now.

That's assuming Miles coaches out the run of his contract and retires after the 2019 season.

SOS in 2005 was 65 (he was 60).

That said, I think the Jimbo ship has run it's course in regards to LSU.

ETA: Corrected SOS age in 2005. For some reason I thought he was 65 in 2005.
