Yes I'd say he's more effective in the post. Is he as good defensively? No probably not he's lost a little athleticism with the surgery but he is now top 3-4 as an interior defender instead of hands down #1.

Did you know that last night he went for 24 and 17? I'd guess that there have only been a handful of players who have had 20pt/15reb games all year. And Dwight has more than 1.

20/15 games this season

Cousins - 5
Dwight - 4
Davis - 3
Aldridge - 3
Faried - 2
Griffin - 2

Few other guys have 1. And Dwight missed 3 weeks. D12 has played 17 games, 4 20/15 games. So almost 25% of games he's getting 20/15 which is a monster game there are only 30 leaguewide all year.

Of course I knew. I have him in the Pels league. But he's had those nice game when he was in Orlando too.

Dwight is a good player, not poo pooing him, but I'm not sure that after his body grew into it is now, and has all these years under his belt to hone his skills, I don't think I've seen that much improvement. Maybe his left hand going to the jump hook, maybe?

Dwight had the skills and the body to challenge Shaq as the most dominant force down low. I just feel he came up wayyyy short in that comparison. Am I off?

Stats are skewed as always.

Drummond:
18pts 20 rbs
19pts 24rbs
23 pts 14 rbs
27 pts 14 rbs
26 pts 20 rbs

He's excluded because he missed the mark by 1 or 2 pts/rbs.

He didn't have the skills. He never developed the footwork that Shaq had in the post. Shaq is much much bigger and stronger than Dwight. Dwight can jump higher but Shaq prob has 60+ lbs on him for most of his career.

You're like one of those stats men like.

You know howard is the only player in nba history to have 10 pts 5 blocks 3 baby mommas 4 kids and a steal in NBA history?

I'm sure D12 missed by a couple pts or rebs at times too. In none of Dwights 20/15 games did he have only 20 pts so if I wanted to I could've said something like 22/15 and excluded more of other players games while still including Howards.

If I change the query to 21+/16+, D12 still has 4 games, but Davis drops down to 1.

So if you had to start a franchise today. Are you taking Davis or Howard?

Ok I think Dwight was a better athletic big than Shaq. Shaq was more powerful and unstoppable, and intimatating. Forget that. My only question to you is "Has Dwight's play improved over the time he's been in the league starting in Orlando, to where he is now in Houston?

I'd have to go with Davis.

Davis has 6 20/14 games. Howard has 4

Davis has 8 30/10 games. Howard has 1

Davis has 17 double dubs. Howard has 13

This is fun

Yes clearly. Is he better now than he was his best year in Orlando? NO there were a couple years where Dwight was pretty much a consensus top 3 player. He is better offensively than he was then but his defense has fallen off a bit due to the surgery. But I gotta say he is looking better this year than he did last year, and better last year than he did in LA.

13 double doubles in 18 games (72%)

v

17 in 29 games (58%)

Not sure why you're manipulating stats to try to pump Davis, I was comparing Dwight to the whole league not just one player. 20/15 is a fair #.. not like I looked up 20/15 beforehand to see if it would beneift Dwight. Fact is, Dwight is comparable with pretty much anyone in the league when it comes to putting up monster scoring/rebounding games.

howard's carreer stats

Looks to me he peaked about the 4th year in Orlando and played really well for a couple years, then declined a bit. So, he really hasn't gotten better since he left orlando.

Now I'm going to bed. Going play Oak Harbor in the morning. If you wanna come play and lose in skins, come on down. Then after that, we can go to Napoleon and I'll school you in some hoops.

They're down a bit, they've also gotten better each year post surgery. His ppg and fg% this year are above career averages.

I'd stay on the Northshore instead of making the ride down to Napoleon if I were you.
