looking at Crystal Ball on 247sports, he is 50/50 and latest ball has him to Texas. Why?

Maybe because we're loaded at RB. Doesn't mean he won't play. One position on the offense Les likes to let everyone play. Fresh legs are a good thing

Because he has a better chance of playing early if he goes there..he's visited there before and will take an OV in Jan. Hopefully he stays close to home.
And by the way, the guy that CB'd him is an idiot so don't put much stock in it.

Thanks Lurker. Just wondering. What do you think we end with?

Nic really likes Charlie Strong and him going to Texas is a real possibility. Say what you will but I know this to be a fact. Comming from someone real close to Nic.

Wouldn't blame him, either. Fournette, Williams, Guice, and Ducre is already a sick backfield to join all the while knowing Fournette would be the main guy for two more years most likely.

I was told that while he loves Les and LSU,he has really never been out of Louisiana for a real amount of time and he may want to see something different and that is a factor in his decision.

I think Strong is selling a run heavy offense. And he's probably not lying or telling them what they want to hear. He's counting on a very strong, no pun intended, defense in an offensive heavy conference.

The only problem is, that puts us in more head-to-head recruiting battles (not that we didn't have enough over in TX). Either way, we fight TAMU or UT (or both) many times with no end in sight. Is what it is. I'd rather go against a style point and stats-proud TAMU than a conference champ UT myself.

The kid don't wanna hear that crap. You a young back comin out of HS and you see all the backs LSU have. You would choose other options to. The tigers can't have them all. These kids wanna play. I would be the same way.

I like Brossette, but I like Guice more. And people are selling Ducre short calling him a FB. He might be a FB because of his (and especially if he gets bigger), but he his a runner first (right now).

I want Brossette, but we can survive not getting him if that's what he decides. Is Austin really that different than BR?

Fornette, D Williams, Guice, and Ducre is pretty special. If Brossette stays committed, he'd be right there in the mix for 2015. Who knows beyond that.

Les has seen Brossette play more than anyone in the nation. I can't imagine he would ditch coach Miles.

This is an interesting topic you have brought up. The company I work for has a branch in Austin and I talk a little Texas football with the UT fans out there from time to time. This same subject has come up several times with them over the last few months. One of those UT fans told me the other day they would love to land Brossette but RB was a position they are pretty stocked up on much like us. He named some of the RB's they already have, a redshirt that many UT fans consider to be the best RB on the team, and a verbal from a California RB prospect and another RB from the state of Texas. Having said all this it appears a deep depth chart is not much of a concern for Mr. Brossette. If he wants to take an OV, Austin would be a cool town to go have some fun in, but I sure would hate to see Texas plucking one of our Blue Chip LA prospects. It's bad enough to deal with Bama and A&M. It is what it is though. Hopefully Brossette stays instate.

UT is not that great. I do not see the appeal to big time athletes, especially the way Texas sports are trending at the moment. The Advocate also did a piece on Brossette's mom with cancer, so I just cannot see him going 7 hours away.

Was told from the beginning that either he or Guice wouldn't be a part of this class

Looks like Brossette will end up at UT, and you can't blame him. He'd be behind Fournette for two years and Guice for three not to mention Williams and others.

If his only concern is getting 300 carries per season thus leading to a greater chance at a blown out knee then go to UT.

Want to get out of college with fresh legs and have a shot at the NFL? Come to LSU.

It's one of the best schools in the country in one of the coolest cities in the country. Abd it's athletic program was valued #1 by Forbes. I can't understand why they don't have the number one class every year.

Running back is a position where Les Miles will play multiple guys and have them ready for the NFL. Ford, Ware, Blue, and all were in the back by committee scheme and all of them made nfl rosters.
