I'd imagine if I had PTSD I may have a few psychological side effects. Yes, he told lies after he had experienced the horrors of war (including one about Ventura that amounted to libel). Should that take away the fact that he served valiantly, or that he died while trying to provide therapy to other soldiers who suffered PTSD as well?

1) Lutrell is an entertainment seal
2) You don't know anyone who worked with Lutrell.
3) He fabricated numerous events and his team was almost a sore eye to the seal community. Although they died an honorable death.
He was a patriot and held an honorable job but his story and the crap he's doing now does a disservice to the rest of the community.

According to the book it did happen, they had some downtime so he called his wife on his sat phone when all of a sudden shooting and shite broke out. He said "got to go" and hung up while throwing the phone on the ground
Issue was he didn't actually hang up the phone and his wife (could've been dad, can't remember) could hear all the noises of battle for like a minute before being disconnected
Story goes it was 3 days before he was able to contact her again and she had been terrified and he had no idea
No clue if all that's true but that's what was in the book

Yes! He would call his wife and father in "down times at night." One time he started taking fire, hung up with his wife and seconds later an RPG hit the building he was in. His phone went dead and he called his wife 2 days later and she was crying because she thought he had died.
I read the book and saw the movie. The book is a lot of what he remembers actually happened. The movie does not try to recount everything in the book, but just gives a broad overview of what his life was like over there. Eastwood tried to make a rivalry out of Kyle and a Syrian sniper who was a former Olympian, but that was not in the book. However, Kyle did want to kill all their snipers to avenge his friends who were killed by snipers.
No way Eastwood could cram that book into 2 hours, so I think he did a nice job capturing the essence of the book.

I'm bashing seals because I'm speaking facts and not letting a book or movie get in the way of that? I don't know why you pointed out that they are dead SEALS, they could be dead airmen and I would still call there death honorable. Stop watching so much TV.

I really want to see it. The one thing that irks me in the trailers is Cooper's country boy accent. It's not believable in the trailers. But, I'm still gonna give Clint Eastwood my money.

I enjoyed the book but Kyle was unlikeas by the end of the book. I will probably see the movie.
