Where to adopt/purchase pugs in Louisiana/Texas?

I'm doing the research into getting a pug, and I was wondering if anyone on the OT had good experiences with qualified breeders. I do NOT want anything to do with puppy farms.

I have a pug, she is all black and about 8 years old now. She is also partially blind and partly dumb

Wut? Pugs are great! Full of personality, fantastic with kids, very affectionate and won't maul you to death. Their bite can barely break skin.

If you enjoy something that's ugly as sin and snores loudly, go for it.
Protip: They're REALLY people friendly to the point of being clingy, so it WILL want to be ugly and snore right next to you.
Most of the OT is used to that with their SO, though, so you'll probably be okay with that already.

I've never seen a dog that shed as bad as a pug. Congrats on having a trashy house full of dog hair.

OP there are numerous rescue groups for all breeds, if you want to go that route. You'll save money, do a nice thing for a dog with a bleak outlook, and endear yourself to the OT. Check out the AKC website for links to legit breeders, if not.
