Just saw the highlights for 1st time. 3 more heinous INT's and could have easily been more with him continuing to throw ill-advised balls into double and triple coverage.

I'm not saying the dude is washed up, but he's definitely a shell.

Two of those three you mention ... will be in the playoffs.

So you are completely jumping around the obvious here. Maybe those two QBs being in the playoffs this year has more to do with them being members of much more complete teams (both offensively and defensively).

Brees has proven so many times he can lead.

Not this season.

And certainly not in comparison to those who actually are elite at this time.

I can't believe I'm responding to you after you said that Drew hasn't been a good leader this year. He's had pressure in his face all season and has never vented frustration at the guys blocking up front, or the countless dropped passes and fumbles that have directly resulted in losing games. He's carried games on his shoulders like a true leader does, but yet now he isn't a leader? Please cite examples where you have observed a lack of leadership. I also want to know who you consider to be elite and how you consider them better than Brees. I await your response.

This thread has gone full retard.

Brees has taken a slight drop, but his stats are on par with years past. His issues are directly linked to his OL and a lack of any real WR threat. We should be more concerned with Jimmy Graham. He had about 400 yards less then last year and looks nothing like a physical beast, never really has though.

Lastly, Brees might be slowly on the decline, but he is still a top QB in the NFL. You will find it hard for any QB to be successful behind the Saints OL.

Thrid in the league in INT's with most coming in crucial times says your dead wrong.

It also could be that the offensive line is rubbish.

So the oline makes bad throws under pressure now. An elite QB can still make the correct throws while being harassed. That's what the word elite means.

Do you really need the correlation for any QB between pressures and turnovers explained to you?

No i don't but to use that an excuse is weak. Look at Rodgers line the last few years. Is he one pic away from leading the league in pics? The answer to that is NOT EVEN CLOSE

I'm looking. Looks like he has a lot of time to throw to me.

Also, Rodgers is the GOAT and has the best Interception Ratio of all-time. Brees is

Time to Throw - pretty interesting given Rodgers great receiving group

2014
Rodgers - 2.86
Brees - 2.63

2013

2.67
2.72

2012

2.88
2.73

2011
2.86
2.64

Also has far less pressures. Crazy how Brady went from washed up to elite again once his oline blocked better

Brees is a measly 18th in Int % at 2.6% tied with Payton Manning for his career (finished at 2.58 for this season). 7th in TD/Int ratio.

If you're being serious and youre seriously question someone's else's football knowledge I don't know how to respond to that. Rodgers was one of the most sacked qb's in the last 5 years. Yet has never come close to leading the league in pics nor has he ever been mentioned as "losing his elite status". Take you black and gold glasses off please sir

I posted the time to throw #'s for the last 4 years.

quote:

Rodgers was one of the most sacked qb's in the last 5 years.

Ok? Brees was pressured 230 times this year and sacked 28x for a sack % of 12.2% when pressured. Aaron Rodgers has a sack % of 26.3%. He takes hits, misses games, etc. Brees avoids a lot of pressure and can't lean on his defense.

Also, Aaron Rodgers is the GOAT

Rodgers takes a lot of sacks and injuries. Brees has been pressured far more. These are stats.

Never. Also, Brees played poorly for Brees this year. That doesn't mean you get to talk out of your arse.

I brought numbers, what did you bring?

quote:

Is he one pic away from leading the league in pics?

Brees, Luck, both Mannings, and Matt Ryan all had a lot of interceptions. All are top 10 QBs easily.

So your numbers say what I'm saying is correct rodgers takes sacks and is pressured yet his numbers doesn't waiver. Brees was thrid in pics not just "alot" as you say. Again it's laughable to use the pressure as a reason to say its the reason his int numbers are so high. Also look when those pics were thrown. Clutch time to lose games.

So your barometer is the best qb in league history?
I think we can all agree he isn't Aaron Rodgers. But he is still a top 5 QB in the NFL.
