I know in many cities in Louisiana if cops are called out to a Domestic violence call someone HAS to go to jail even if it turns out to be nothing. It's bullshite, just another way to lock people up, collect money and put more people in the computer system.

if the woman calls, someone will be arrested. as in period.
I hope you two are just using hyperbole and don't actually believe this.

Of course I believe this, I was put in jail by the kleinpeter substation ****s because my girl (since split because of it) wanted to play games.

She told the dumbshits that I hit her (I had surgery on my hand the Tuesday before to repair a tendon and could barely move it) then decided she wanted to drop charges when they went to arrest me even though she had no marks and admitted to lying about it.

I was told when they get a domestic violence call that they have to bring someone in, it covers their arse legally if something happens after and they let the judge sort it out.

I doubt its a law, it's likely a bullshite tactic pushed by whoever the mental cripple is running the substation and other departments to round up more money and feel like heroes. Meanwhile I'm fighting to keep a clean record so I can keep my Twic card to have a job. When I did nothing wrong, NOTHING!!

They are ridiculous and pointless. Do they really think people are going to see that commercial and think "you know what, she's right, I don't think I'm going to beat the shite out of my wife after dinner anymore"

Please fill me with your knowledge of how all accused are arrested in these situations. I'm sure it'll be entertaining.

Call your local police dept and ask them. It's not really entertaining at all quiet honestly, it's pretty infuriating to be caught up in bullshite like that though.

That isn't necessary. I'm very familiar with the protocol in these situations and I'm not a cop.

I dont know, maybe it's a 'go to' statement for cops? just looking to book someone to pad their numbers or be a dick in general. I do know that most of New orleans, St Tammany and BR will book someone on a DV call.

There are a lot of people booked on DV calls and there are also a lot of calls where no one is arrested when one should have been. They're very unique calls and the system is far from perfect. There's also not a rule that someone is arrested on every call. That's far from the case.

I think it's sexist. A majority of domestic violence is initiated or is preformed by women. Of course they like to only show battered women.

Point is, it's either an excuse or a dept rule and they abuse it because they are $12 an hour pricks.

I was booked for DV less than a week after having tendon repair surgery, I couldn't close my hand or lift anything much less strike the girl. They knew this because they saw the bandage and I even took it off for them to see so I could show them the impossibilities of the accusation, yet they were still too stupid to think clear because a butt hurt woman called for a hero to come save her lying arse.

Cops rack up brownie points for this bullshite as these lying arse 'victims' paint a false picture to go after a guy while the NFL promotes this crap.

If I sound mad it's because I am, I turned 44 this year and have a perfectly clean record never been in trouble and rely on my twic card to make a living for me and my new 3 month old baby girl and these ****s are playing a game with people lives.

For anyone to say this doesn't happen or that it's minimal is mind boggling.

It happens and it's not a rare occurrence, to say otherwise is naive and uninformed. Police buddies may tell a person one thing but they are doing something different, this is an easy catch for them and they're dumb enough to go for the bait laid out by these bitter butthurt self proclaimed 'victims' ven when the entire scenario is a lie.

By all means let's just let people abuse each other then.

it's clearly a scripted piece.

I wasn't aware that there are commercials that are unscripted.

Great answer, I found it very witty and helpful thanks.

So our choices are...

1: lock up someone with almost every DV call

2: let people abuse each other

C'mon man.....
