1. Do the D-Backs win the World Series without this acquisition?

2. Is this one of the more underrated trades of all time?

Not a chance they win the World Series without him. His 2001 season was amazing, and he had the walk off hit in Game 7 of that World Series.

Given the obvious use of steroids and how much it elevated his game, it's hard to evaluate such trades in hindsight.

Imagine if he would have never taken steroids, that single may have been a bunt to the pitcher

They finished the 2 games ahead of the Giants in the regular season. Without Gonzo they don't even make the playoffs.
