Why does this board hate Michigan? I was always under the impression that LSU fans respected Michigan. I just don't get the reaction to this hiring.

Join the crowd, John!

Yes everyone everywhere whose job is to report it has been saying it for at least a few days, if not longer.

This is easily one of the worst kept secrets I can recall in the coaching change area.

@RapSheet: When will #Michigan know Jim Harbaugh is their coach? When he gets on the university plane… which is now in California ready for him.

I think some media know Harbaugh and don't trust him or his agent one bit

It's not done until it is done

John Clayton reporting harbaugh to michigan quote: Just as it was with $aban to bama Saban took a pay cut to go to Alabama... And turned down more money to go to Texas.

Wait...do you guys seriously think Bama is his dream job and he's in love with you? Really? You don't know more than that about Saban by now? His ego wouldn't let him him lose in the NFL anymore. The Bama opening was all about the timing- just like when LSU got him. When he's done at Bama he'll make jokes about all the red-neck roll tide fans just like he's done with the Cajuns here. Saban is an ego maniac and is loyal to himself alone. Surely you know this. I mean, enjoy the winning and all- who wouldn't? But never pretend he's Crimson in his heart.

They don't hate UM. There is just some of them that are either jealous or pissed that you are getting a top tier coach while they are stuck with Les. There is/was a faction of LSU fans that was hoping that Harbaugh would turn you down, and that UM would convince Les to leave LSU for UM. Now they realize that they are stuck with Les for the foreseeable future.

We don't hate Michigan. We just want les miles in Michigan so we can get rid of him. We're paying him way too much money for a constant stream of chicken and outback bowls ie mediocrity.

This is correct

Amateur sport College Football is dead. It may have been headed that way any way but its fair to point out how it got to the point where UNIVERSITIES are paying 8 million per for a coach.

Is the University paying or the boosters?

The boosters point was good, and also, if the overwhelming demand of the public and massive alum-base is that a better coach be hired, who cares?

Boosters have stepped up and said money will not be the reason UM doesn't get their man this time.

Saban would have been in Texas if Mac Brown didn't cak block him. He didn't wait until Saban signed his bama extension to retire for any other reason.
