My whaler is finally running and I am catching fish so now I have another project on the list. I want a cooler seat or switch back seat as these damn thing as zero, really zero storage. I want a cooler seat to replace original wooden crap so I can use it as fish cooler storage space. I already have a bunch of marine coolers and seat cushions from my old boat. ( but don't mind buying new ones) can you buy the backrest chrome or stainless bracket or packages anywhere?

Something like this but less complicated and expensive.

You don't really need a back on it. Just put a cushion on top of a mounted 90-120qt cooler and roll with it. Just mount the corner chocks to the deck to keep it in place.

Dad had a 17 Outrage.... Pulled out the crappy switch back seat that came with it. Had a custome bracket built that fit 2 48 quart Igloos used as a seat for driving and fishing...

that's a fineazz boat. i suggest you reconsider swapping out the wooden seat back and perhaps just redo with some teak oil. i helped a friend with a full restoration on a mid 80's model. I love those things.

I just wanted to say "thanks" for inadvertently introducing me to the Whaler 150 Super Sports and now I have to have one.

No pics, he sold it a few years back... The aluminum bracket had angle legs about 10" tall with the length of a 48" quart Igloo and the width was the two chest back to back with a six" space between... Mostly built with angle aluminum.
