Very good movie.

I've heard of it before, of course. But it wasn't what I was expecting.

I always had the notion that it was just your basic stoner/drinking teen movie. But I find that it had a more serious undertone than the more recent examples of the genre.

I wouldn't say the subject matter was particularly original or ground breaking. But it seemed to be executed really well and in a more subdued way.

And this might belong more properly on the thread dedicated to such questions - but was that really Ben Affleck? When I saw his name in the credits I was surprised.

McConaughey was pretty recognizable. Especially when he talked. Played a pretty good role though.

That was also Milla Jovovich and Renée Zellweger.

Best movie EVER.

I felt like Dazed & Confused is one of the more accurate movies about high school. Sometimes, you just drove around looking for something to do.

Yeah, all of the movies I've seen directed by Linklater have that type of undertone to varying degrees. I think he's a great director.

The first line he ever said in front the camera in a movie was his most recognized line, "Alright, Alright, Alright". He may have played some exceptional and more critically acclaimed roles in his career, but he will never have a line that will ever top his very first has the line that comes to everyone's mind when they think of him.

ETA: And in Methuselah's defense, it took me by surprise when I realized that Affleck was O'Bannion.

Poor guy seems to always be losing fights. At least in this one he didn't get killed.
