He was outstanding before his injury this year

He was hurt week 5 right?

34 catches and 3 td in 5 weeks isn't bad but i wouldn't call it outstanding for what he has accomplished in the past.

The problem is his huge vagina lips dragging on the ground slowing him down.

Well he's always been outstanding. I was comparing him to other tight ends

He was one of the highest rated run blockers too at the time of his injury

When did he get lit up at the end of last season? He's always taken some brutal hits for us and never comes out the game

Maybe the coaches should try actually resting him when injured like calvin, Julio, and green

This board is laughable. He's somehow a pussy for playing through injury where others wouldn't. He wants to play and help his team. His coaches should be the ones holding him out instead of letting him get reinjured over and over again

he isnt playing through the injury. he might be on the field, but that doesnt mean hes playing like he should. he couldnt cacth, get hit, or hold on to the ball. how is that helping the team?

if all of what you said was true, he would know to sit the frick down for a few games and then come back. but no, lets linger for the entire season and play half assed. great plan. that does the team a lot of good.

At some point it has to become, "the guy is always injured" right. Hasn't injuries been the excuse for like 3 season now. At some point that's on him, that's how the nfl works.

because him on the field indirectly helps the offense.

one game. one play. his negative plays well outshined that one thing. so is he the new reggie bush decoy? because if so, that pricetag is not worth it.

first 5 games:
376 yards (75.2ypg) and 3 TDs

after injury 9 games:
459 yards (51.0ypg) and 7 TDs, should have been 8TDs

Injuries happen, but a season ending injury like a torn rotator cuff isn't everyday. He goes to IR do you guys still bitch and whine?

Why don't you guys bitch more about Byrd who got a huge contract as well, but got IR'd from a torn lateral meniscus after 4 games. Or the 16mil interior OL that has been shitting the bed all season that is indirectly proportional to how bad (being a relative term) our offense is for stretches.

Graham and his contract is far from being this team's biggest issue.

no because clearly thats a different situation. he didnt need to go to IR, he needed to sit a few games or dont use the injury excuse and play better.

how is this comparable to Jimmy playing like shite for 9 games instead of sitting for 3 and having a good 6 games at the end? Look at Calvin's performances yet he was dinged up. Andre Ellington had an ankle injury and played great the whole season until finally getting IRed. whats the point of playing a dinged up player that lets an injury dictate his play?

dont think anyone said it was the biggest issue. also this thread isnt about the o-line. ive said all season in multiple threads THAT is the biggest issue. this thread is about Jimmy and dealing with injuries.

So you're blaming Jimmy for the coach's dumb decision.

Got it

Jesus

That is literally a decision that coaches are paid to make. Players should want to play

You're all over the place

Well he probably should have went on IR last year, but they decided an injured graham > no graham

We don't know the extent of his shoulder injury, but he was willing to play through it. That somehow makes him a pussy.

Oh wait, he wasn't a actually playing through it despite playing (once again, sound logic) because his injured performance wasn't equal to his normal, all-time great performance

Solid fricking logic there

All the internet tough guys in this thread really give me a good laugh. The guy has been the best player at his position for a few years and a bunch of nerds on a message board who maybe played high school football call him a soft pussy. Classic

and if he sat, you may have well benched him all season and put him on IR. The game is to catch the ball, which the acrobatic and long extended catches we're used to see him do over and over in years past are no longer guaranteed because of said injury.

You said he should sit it out, but the type of injury he has sitting out would do nothing. It would require surgery or WEEKS of recovery, if not the whole entire season.

Andre Ellington and many RBs/WRs/Players in general can play on ankle injuries. Great is a big word to use, he carried it 201 times for 660 yards (3.3ypc). If that's great, than Ingram's other seasons were FANTASTIC.

Calvin Johnson dealt with a high ankle sprain, which typically takes 4-6 weeks. Torn rotator cuff depends on how severe. It can be as short as a few weeks to a season ending IR, like i've repeated so many times.

Once again, the type of injury he sustained isn't a "just rest it, in 3 weeks he's fine if you don't use your arm".

In 2010, Wes Welker had a torn rotator cuff that needed surgery, along with a bad knee. in 2009, he posted 123 catches 1348 yards. In 2010, he posted 86 catches 848 yards.

Michael Bennett had a torn rotator cuff, he played all 16 games (occurred in march 2013)

Plaxico burress had a torn rotator cuff, it put him on season ending IR...in august (2013)

Brian Quick had a torn rotator cuff this year, it put him on season ending IR in October (2014)

If he was so injured why was he never on the injury report?

You would think he would at least be "limited" in practice to go along with a "probable" for gametime status.

You can't sit out a few weeks and heal a rotator cuff. Extensive rehab in offseason or surgery.

Because you and I and everyone knows that not every injury makes it onto the list. JG can still practice, it's not like holding him out will be of any help like an ankle injury. Practice is non-contact anyway, so he has no risk of getting hit catching a ball in walk throughs and injuring himself any further.

Like ^ has restated. Holding him out isn't going to heal or magically fix it.
