Yes, Really. The talent has to want to come play for him. It just doesn't magically appear on the field.

Yep. Only thing better would be to have this discussion with a great Bourbon and a high dollar cigar!! Hell after a couple hours we could all make the offense roll ya think?

Ask anyone that knows anything about Nick Saban and I don't think there will be a discussion thread debating the answer

Curious if you feel the same way about Arkansas and us since they play us close year end and year out? Do you consider their program on par with ours?

Recruiting to Manhattan Kansas with a coach that loves going the JC route?

Why doesn't he have more of a voice? Must not be confident enough for the SEC.

Lost to a team with four losses...print the shirts! C'mon man, what happened to this excellence you were demanding? Doesn't anything more than one loss require a staff change? Aren't people without those types of requirements bad Americans or something?

So your saying that if Hayes is a good coach then players should be flocking to Manhattan Kansas the same rate as they are to Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, or College Station (until this year)?

Ah...

I love one-game sample sets and transitive property. I mean, they're so telling.

To play your game, check out the A&M score from their game and compare it to ours.

If you look at the recruiting rankings in the big 12, only two programs have had a higher rated classes consistently the last 4-5 cycles over TCU. OU and UT. Some years OSU, and tech have had some decent classes, but for the most part they are on an even playing field talent wise and in some cases better with the rest of that conference. They prob aren't going to be better than UT and OU every year, but they should be better than everyone else every year.

Just gotta make a change at DC every 4 years at the ballot box!! You guys win. There is no DC better than John Chavis for LSU. No one else could succeed here. Muschamp tried in 03' and flopped. Bo tried in 07' and flopped. Chavis tried in 11' and succeeded!! What are we gonna do if he ever leaves? Better lock him up at 2.2 mill per so TAMU doesnt take him!!

The majority of the fanbase is pleased with 8-10 wins. With coaching salaries and facility improvements we are still no closer to BAMA and are arguably losing ground. And that appears to be ok with a surpising number of fans and the AD. So what is the #1 incentive?

What? Not one person on here is satisfied with winning 8-10 games a season. Not one. You cant tout how deep and strong the sec is and then get mad when we dont win the west every year. Some people have realized that no program in all of cfb , has been affected by the nfl draft, as lsu.
In the last 4 years lsu has lost 21 juniors to the NFL.The next closest program is Bama with 12 juniors.

Ok lets go beyond the one or two game sub set. He is coaching the defense for the #11 ranked KSU Wildcats.

As long as we don't go after the guys you mentioned, they don't display excellence.

winning a NC isn't #1 on the head coach's and AD'S agenda then they don't need to be here and I don't want them here

What? The #1 agenda for coaches and players is winning the SEC.its the only title where the coaches and players have 100 % control over winning.
The BCS and the Playoff are voted on. You could go undefeated and not play in either of those games. Unless youre on sanctions, it's impossible to go undefeated and not win the sec

That's not even in the top ten. That is not demanding excellence.

Sure they are!! Last year was record setting offense and the chorus of how many straight 10 win seasons being trumpeted by Miles and the AD?? This year it is the string of 9 win seasons. Face it there are a lot of fans that are fine with 10 win seasons and no SEC or National Champs at seasons end. The AD himself stated it is not about winning chanpionships but being in the hunt for them that counts. Every year 10 wins will put you in the hunt for a conference championship. So expectations met with a 10 win season. That is the AD stating this. The head of LSU athletics.

I wish Diggy was our AD AND head coach. With expectations like that guy has, we'd never not win the NC.

Ehh people wanted bo gone in 05. Some of those D's got shredded. 06 is the only season I can't recall we got bitch slapped by some offenses. Chavis has been better, and didn't have sabans players.
