1:9 Twist.

Prepare to be disappointed unless you are handloading for it. Even then it's going to fluctuate as copper builds up and the chrome lining settles to where it stops cracking for a few thousand rounds. Your cleaning habits will dictate that too. A 4x ACOG is really a very good all-purpose optic if you pony up the $$$ for the real thing. Set up dove clays at 100yds and get consistent at shooting them with that or even a dot sight.

My bad. The long handguard played tricks on me and made me think it was longer.

I think either optic would be good. But one thing to think about - put an ACOG on there, and it is now twice the price of the rifle. Also be sure you look through an ACOG before buying - the eye relief is strange. But if the military trusts them, I'm sure they are durable and high quality, as is my personal RMR. Just make sure you know what you're dropping coin on.

Nice

I have a rail like that (Diamond) and thinking about putting a MI SS Gen 2 on it.

I built a recent SBR with a 10" MI Gen2ss (10.3" DD barel). The gun is set up for suppressor use. I like the MI Gen2ss so much I added one to a 16" I have. The MI Gen2ss is very light, thin, and well made...great if you don't want rails everywhere.

On te 16" what length did you go with? I'm debating between the 12 and 15

On the 16" I used the 12" hand guard, which I believe is closer to 12.5" in actual length. I have a 1-4x Luppy on that rifle and it has great balance with the MI gen2. Unfortunately, my SBR's with suppressors replaced that 16" as my coyote gun...the 16" is a great field rifle...I just rather a suppressor to protect my ears.

I would forget about a laser and put extra cash on a set of good glass. Unless your just dead set on it.

In all honesty MJ2, I had a laser on my M4 in Iraq and I used it more to play with the stray cats and dogs than anything else. If you're really looking for one, cool get it, just my .02.

Looks nice though man.

Looks great! I would get an aimpoint pro for it.

The 1:9 twist is good for those 55gr bullets.

If you aren't shooting past 100 yards get a red dot

Just purchased a Trueglo reflex sight today. For the money it was by far the best I saw today. I looked thru a few Eotechs and honestly don't see what all the fuss is. This trueglo was in no way the cheapest they had but at $118 I think I did good. It has red and green recticles and you can change the MOA and brightness. Very clear and almost as wide as the Eotech.

This. Get an EOTech and call it a day (plus magnifier).

Perfect for plinking. My buddy has one and loves it. Now go have fun

If you want true value and wanted to spend a little more next time, go to primary Arms and get their red dot with 50k battery life hours.

That is what I would have recommended for the money he spent.

I was looking at that on their website but was not comfortable purchasing something like that without putting my hands on it. I looked at two $350 red dot scopes and really didn't care too much for them tbh.

Took a buddy out today between the storms and ran 100 rounds thru it. Did great. That ramp part just behind the ejection port. Are the shells supposed to be hitting it? They're hitting it so hard they're taking the coating off.
