I love soccer but an ejection from a game over something like that is why it will always be a pussy sport.

Not true. I'm an Arsenal fan but I'd say the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot.

You're also an idiot for pretending a red card is analogous to an ejection in any other sport.

Robert Green cleared a ball that drilled Giroud in the face. Giroud flipped out and softly headbutted a QPR who went down. Red card.

Rosicky with a well deserved goal, but Alexis with the God-like run.

Considering it's not and never has been 'a pussy sport,' you can get fricked.

It was a dramatic reaction, but you can't head butt players, period. I don't blame the QPR guy for going down...do what you can do to win the game for your team.

And you can't compare soccer to any other sport. In football, players go head to head all the time, but they've got fricking helmets on. Baseball, you don't get the chance to go head to head. Basketball you'll get a T and probably ejected.

Haha ok. In circumstances in which any grown man would stand up Giroud and jar back at him, the guy flops. And you defend him.

The dude is a competitor who got blasted in the face with the ball and got caught up in the heat of the moment. He didn't throw a punch or kick and he didn't headbutt him like Zidane did. That was one of the most gentle headbutts I've ever seen and it may have not even been intentional.

Everyone knows a red card changes the entire dynamic of the game. To reward flopping and suspend someone for more than 3 games over something like that is pathetic and in some ways justifies redneck American sports fans when they mock the sport every 4 years during the summer.

Believe me, I know what the term is. I'm using universal sports language because I'm an American and not using "cctv" as a term like you did in a thread on the stl shooting a few days ago.

You're clearly delusional. All you need to watch is Giroud's reaction. He lost his cool and head butted an opponent. He deserves the red card and the suspension. fricking stupid.

Do you think I care about ignorant rednecks' opinions?

I'm complaining because situations like this make it hard for me to defend the sport when my friends make fun of me for watching soccer every Saturday am.

Why do you need to defend yourself for watching soccer?

If you have friends who make fun of you for watching a sport, it sounds like you need new friends or thicker skin.

That some random defender for QPR's flop can affect your friendships says more about the friendships than the nature of an entire sport.
