About 15 minutes from the landing now. Will have a fresh report in the morning. Headed to our camp off pass a loutre.

LSU you on those camps on the left as you turn into loutre from head of the passes?
Posted on 12/25/14 at 4:56 pm to lsuson
No, passed there about a mile or two on the right. Group of 14 by the garden island bay oil facility. Canal that cuts through from pass a loutre to loomis.

Gotcha my buddy has s camp on the left. How were the duck numbers?
Posted on 12/25/14 at 5:39 pm to lsuson
Hunted this afternoon had 36 in about 80 minutes. No shortage of birds

Damn Hammer. I'll def be picking your brain soon about the TD PAL trip. Not certain ponds, just general areas. I know the duck numbers are solid down there.

Anytime LSU son. I hunt all over so I don't mind trying to help I just move with the ducks only setting up where they are.

I hunt Biloxi wma the same way. What else did y'all shoot besides pins?
Posted on 12/25/14 at 5:59 pm to VernonPLSUfan
Limits on cans and pintail then mix of grays redheads weidgeon and a pair of bW teal.

I have a good buddy that is coming. He's only been duckhunting for 6 years. Anyway he wants to mount a pintail and a redhead so hopefully he can knock out those two next week while down there.

Pintail will be a slam dunk. Red head are hit or miss but more numbers this year than most. Canvasbacks should also be a slam dunk. IMO canvasback better mount than redhead but both are fine mounts

I had a canvasback in the freezer, but Katrina screwed that up. If I shoot a big one I may mount it. Goldeneye and cinnamon teal is on my bucket list. Saw one goldeneye down there years ago.

Goldeneye and cinnamon teal can be taken on the same trip in Alaska that's what I would recommend. One of my greatest travel trips I've ever been on

That would be awesome!
Guy I know shot a ringed real yesterday. Anyone ever shot one?
