I have a 700 ADL manufactured in 79 or 80 I suspect and was thinking of sending it in.

I wonder how long it would take to get it back?

I just read the recall only applies to rifles made after 2006

Swapping in an aftermarket trigger only takes a few minutes. Id do that. There's no telling how long it will take if you send it in.

I bet if you send one in they will put a a trigger so heavy on there you will need to hook it up to a Mack truck to get it to go off....I heard from a pretty reliable source that the recall is a bunch of bs anyway

Well I keep reading and it is a little confusing.

There is a "recall" on all made after 2006 because of a "bonding agent" but the deal on the Walker triggers is a voluntary. They did not recall those. They merely agreed to replace any that a person wants replaced. A little different I guess. They still are not acknowledging any problems with the stock, unaltered trigger in the pre 2006 triggers.

If I had one made after 2006 that is part of the recall I would in a hurry. Who wants a gun the manufacturer tells you it has a problem.

Seems however they still say the older ones are ok. I can't believe they would leave them out there without a recall after all this scrutiny if they felt the gun had a problem.

I have a .270 that is part of the recall. I notified them as per the recall letter and it took them THREE MONTHS to send me the box I am supposed to ship it back to them in. The box is sitting in my room and I staring at it thinking "if it took them that long to send me the box, will I ever see the rifle again?" Havent decided to send it back or not.

The older ones are supposed to be fine if you don't jack with it.

The problems with the old ones show up when people start turning screws.

I will meet with them and get everyone complete updated info on this in January. In the meantime, no kids with recalled guns period. Experienced adults only using sound hunter safety techniques. And if is below 40 degrees flip the safety after scoping the deer just in case.

Recall

Actual recall - If you like your gun take it somewhere local and have a new trigger assembly put in unless you can wait. If you are knowingly using a gun in the recall shame on you.
