God is omnipotent, so he already knew you were going to hell before you were born. And he created you. He also sets up the system that if you don't believe in him of "your own free will", then you will go to a place, Hell, that he created as well.

So he's sending you to hell. For not believing in him.

Even when he gives absolutely no evidence whatsoever that he exists.

If you think belief is a choice then I think you are mistaken. Also, if you think the choice you are making is about a postmortem destination then you are also mistaken.

Wait, how does one chose what they believe?

Without hell, there is no choice. You have choices; you have free will. There is lots of evidence, you just have to look.

Read the Bible. Specifically the Old Testament.

I can literally give you dozens and dozens of quotes, from the Bible, that show how despicable he is. Rape, murder, genocide etc etc etc all advocated by God.

He's a real awesome guy.

If you never open your heart to God you will never let him in. I used to be like you guys, but I slowly began to see things differently. My life is much better now - I won't be going back to where I was.

Give me one piece of testable, verifiable evidence.

In the Old Testament, God spoke directly to man and they didn't follow his plan. They didn't love each other, they didn't put others before self. God was vengeful when man didn't follow his plan. When the cycle kept repeating itself, God tried another plan - Christ. Read the New Testament to understand the covenant we have now. It's a promise of limitless grace.

No, I'm just an average dude that realized a life with Christ. Not Pascal's Wager, a true life with Christ.

How convenient for God. (and I went to 13 years of Catholic school. I am well versed in the covenant and both Testaments)

Don't you think it a little weird that an omnipotent being would be "vengeful"? Or have any human-esque emotion whatsoever?

I mean...come on.

You'll have to find it yourself or you'll never believe. Everyone has their own God story.

I'm not Catholic, too many man-made rules that contradict the Bible. I can understand if Catholicism turned you away from God, it has for many. Try a different church.

I actually respect you more than most. Any believer that can readily admit there is no logical or testable evidence but they still believe is fine with me.

Just don't be disingenuous about it.

You misunderstand me. Catholicism is infinitely more palatable than any of the crazy little brother sects. Catholicism IS Christianity in my book. It is the original. All the rest are pretenders.

I have no problem with Catholicism.

My problem isn't with religion or anything like that. "Another Church" isn't going to help.

I have a brain and logic. That's the "problem".

How do you feel about Eastern Orthodox? They probably have an argument for being original in some way.

I don't know enough about them to be honest. Just what I was taught in school and that sort of thing.
