with God, we are somehow supposed to prove he doesn't exist when the burden of proof is truly the other way around.
Besides, there's actually more proof required than the mere existence or even possible existence of a God being.
Even if one could absolutely prove a God being existed, that wouldn't mean the God of the Bible was true.

False. Give me some links and examples if this is the case.

I've always thought the leap between no God and God was far smaller than the leap between God and specific God that we know about.

Well, while I agree speaking in absolutes is folly, God is as likely to be real as any other work of fiction that evidence doesn't exist to actually refute.
To be fair to the religious side, the God of the OT (not lounge) is made "more likely" when considering the at least superficial philosophical plausibility of monotheism.

I'd rather live my life believing in God and the teachings of the bible, .....die and find out it's not true than die and find out it was as an unbeliever.
That's just me though.

You think the entire atheist argument is dependent on solely the creation story?
No, but it's what every one of these threads turn into. Go back to the OP and see where we are now.

What is this stupid meme in here about atheists being miserable people?
I guarantee you that most Agnostics/Atheists walking around are happy as hell and you don't even know they are that because they don't talk about it.
I'm more on the Agnostic side than anything, and I am as happy and fulfilled as could be.
Many Christians I know are dumb, some are bitter, some are smart. Just like anyone else.

Not surprised. Most small minded religionists like to throw Pascal's Wager out there. So you are just hedging your bets like so many other Christians? That's pretty inspiring. Thanks but no thanks.

I'd rather believe too. But, I don't.

Ah old Pascal's Wager. How devout of you.

Newsflash...that's not faith.

You really don't understand the point?
The only other topic that gets more attention on this board is race topics.
For some reason it's really important for you "non believing" types to let others know you don't believe.
Whoopee, you want a cookie?
Bumper sticker? A special TD avatar?
It's like you boys are super proud of it and want everyone to know.

Do you explain all this faith you have in Christ to your kids?

If I live a good life and am a good person, a diety worth worshipping would welcome me into after life whether i did or didn't believe.
If not, I don't want to spend eternity with the frick anyways

That's not how belief works. So, why even say it? Pascal's wager was absolutely retarded. I'm atheist and if I could wake up tomorrow REALLY believing in God and the afterlife, I'd take it.
But, I'd take it not because of the cool heaven shite but because the idea of something positive after death is obviously more attractive than the idea of nothing at all.

What!? Haha.
This thread was a "look at us! We are doing it right! Atheist die younger!"
If you didn't feel the need to tell me (subtly or overtly) how good and right you were in comparison to me, I wouldn't (and often don't) feel the need to defend my opinion in direct contrast to yours.

I mean that's a logical way of looking at it but it's clearly not the answer and according to to the bible not true at all.
I'm just telling ya what it says.
