Do you hang out with your coworkers away from work... Examples would be getting drinks, hanging out on weekends, New Years eve parties..

Play games online with them on occasion

We head to happy hours every now and again. There are a lot of people who hang out together, but I'm not in the "in crowd"

Sports leagues and happy hour.

Yep, mine are cool. Not a one that I dislike.

No but I think this really depends on where you work.
I work in a small office. We have about 15-20 employees. Only one employee is my age, the rest are older and have families. My coworker is married and we have very different interests.
I have a lot of friends who work for bigger companies, and they hang out with cowokers on the weekends, but they would consider the person more of a friend than a coworker.

In the USMC I did.
I didn't at most of jobs until the 4 years ago. I finally work with people I actually like!

Doesn't matter what line of work it is, it seems the "in crowd" all hang out too much and start fricking each other/cheating on their spouses. So.

Service industry is king though

Most of mine are younger than I, but it's an adventure tour company, some really cool people.

Where do I sign up?
Posted on 12/24/14 at 11:58 am to TechDawg2007
Yea, but I work in the service industry right now so it's pretty common.
Posted on 12/24/14 at 12:01 pm to TechDawg2007
No. I work with them too much to want to spend any more time with them than needed. I have friends for that.

Are we talking hiking/climbing/ kayaking type stuff?
Your area is on my travel list and those are the things I plan to do when there.
Posted on 12/24/14 at 12:03 pm to TechDawg2007
I meet them out on a Friday maybe once a quarter for a couple of drinks, but thats it.
Posted on 12/24/14 at 12:03 pm to TechDawg2007
Absolutely. We usually all get together once or twice a month with wifes/g/f's and pick a place to eat and drink. One rule is strictly enforced: No work talk allowed.

It's a climbing/kayaking/hiking/fishing/skiing paradise.
