If he is as good as advertised then losing a RS means nothing. Remember Ego Ferguson?

If it comes down to him playing his fifth year at LSU then it would mean that he was just an avg player.

Miles once called a timeout after a turnover

Who knows what goes on under that hat?

if he can play, he should play in the bowl game. he's not staying past his junior year anyways.

It's a subpar bowl game against ND you can't believe that it's worth burning for that.

why? He'll be gone in two years anyway if he is that good.

Loston was only redshirted because he got hurt at the beginning of his Freshman year

At this point there's I reason for him to play. Keep the redshirt

If TV is what we think he is, he's gone after 3 years here anyway.

Redshirts don't count for guys that can get to the NFL if they are good enough after three years.

Might as well play him.

You can see how he matches up against a legit program in live action so you can assess what you have for next season at the DT position. That's a good enough reason for me.

I mean we are worried about him coming back for his 5th year. If he does then it will be bc he is an avg to below avg player. If he is a stud then he will be gone after maybe after his RS So, but definitely after his RS JR. So what difference does it really make. These kids aren't die hard LSU fans that want nothing more to play for their beloved school for as long as possible.

Coaches probably also consult the player on things like this so I am sure if TV plays then he is definitely on board with the decision.

yep. It's not always about how good they are. It's about how good they think they are and about whether they hate school or not.

Collins stayed. Minter was a rs Jr, same with mingo and montgomery. They don't all leave after 3 years.

TV will play one more game then Mingo and Minter if he plays in the bowl game and stays the same amount of time at LSU.

What's the difference if he leaves after his RS Jr. year or his true SR. year?? If he is a stud, he will leave if he is not then we missed out on an additional year of an avg at best CFB DT.

Because if he's good enough he'll be gone in two years anyway whether he redshirts this season or plays in the bowl game. So we might as well get a bowl game out of him if that's the case.

I tend to agree--TV is likely gone after three years anyway.

There's not much depth at DT, so he could be needed. It will depend upon how the game goes.

Sorry fellas, finally got back to Nashville with this shitty weather.

For what it is worth he sounded pretty confident that he would play. Again that may be just optimism on his part.

He didn't make the trip, so the odds of him playing seem low
quote:

LSU defensive tackle Travonte Valentine did not travel with the team to Nashville, team spokesman Michael Bonnette said.

Valentine, a highly rated true freshman from Florida, has not played this season; he has not been ruled eligible by the Southeastern Conference. Miles suggested earlier this week that Valentine remained ineligible.

“He has some things to get in place so we can get him on the field,” Miles said Friday on his radio show.
