From a glance -

- Dropping to a FCS was never a consideration. The sole purpose of the study was to compare the cost with and without FBS football

- The study doesn't consider efforts to increase donations or to reduce expenses.

- Ticket sales were assumed to remain the same as last year through the year 2019. This is a bad assumption since last year tickets dropped to about half of what they had been due to the poor performance of the team over the last two years.

- With football, the athletic budget was projected to be $5.1M in the red in 2015, steadily increasing up to $7.3M in the red in 2019. This of course is based on no additional donations and ticket sales being around 10,000 per game.

- The football coaches wish list of items they provided to the athletic director ($22M for indoor practice facility and coaches offices) was added to the shortfall calculation. Consideration was not given to these being funded by donations. Incidentally the newly formed Football Foundation raised $5M in the first two weeks of a drive to fund the facilities. This fund raising drive was done prior to there being knowledge of the study to end the football program.
