Well, you'll be happy to discover that the age vs regard for the Ewoks argument has been made before, incredibly specific though it may be.

38 - somewhat indifferent now. Back in 83', I thought they were amusing, but it also felt kind of force-fed and annoying even back then.

As I got older and with repeated viewings, I thought the whole primitive warriors vs the technologically advanced Empire was an interesting twist to the finale but it did seem kind of odd to make their role so significant at the end of the trilogy.

As I got even older and I saw the Jar-Jar effect of the prequels, I better understand the disdain for the Ewoks. It was clearly a creation to boost toy sales and possibly attract an even younger consumer to Star Wars merchandise.

Empire is my hands-down, all-time favorite movie - period. However, Jedi is the movie I saw in the theater dozens of times, so it holds and incredibly special place in my heart. The Ewoks are a special part of that but i neither love of hate them now. I get both sides of the argument.

Also, I hated that the "Yub Yub" song got axed in the Special Editions.
