I swear on my Mom's head that I noticed this the first time they showed this at the theaters when I was nine or ten years old. I keep seeing this posted EVERY year, and that it's a huge deal. But they clearly show the mess being made, make a scene of it and then stop and clearly show an airline ticket in the trash.
Now I guess as I kid I didn't get why the count was off, but I knew the reason Kevin didn't have his ticket is because it was tossed in the trash.
Though I'm also one of the few who liked the second one better. I just liked the thought of living it up In NYC, and had just visited Ny right before I saw HA2 in the theaters.

Since the Mcallister's main goal was to have Kevin murdered while they were on vacation, he most certainly threw it away.

I have heard this discussed many, many times since 1991.
How is this mind-blowing?

I still don't understand how people miss that his ticket gets tossed.
They clearly show the ticket sitting in the trash getting covered up with napkins and spilled milk.
I mean why the hell else would they have a damn shot of the trash can with crap getting tossed in it?

Congrats on noticing something you're supposed to notice.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to flame here, but this is most certainly a well known thing.
Shame on you for linking buzzfeed also.

Then they left him home alone. Wonder if that's where the movie got its title.

Honestly, until last year, I don't think I ever saw that scene on TV. I don't know if it got cut out, or if I always started the movie a few minutes in..
