My wife gives people the finger on the road. I tell her she's going to end up getting her arse whipped in a walmart parking lot one day if she keeps it up.
I on the other hand drive decently, and have never had an encounter where a middle finger was necessary. I ignore people or go slower until they pass if they ride my tail.

I flipped off a guy once for completely cutting me off while on his cellphone on an on-ramp. I had to swerve into traffic and almost got crushed by an 18 wheeler because of this a-hole.
He tailed me for like 20 minutes even as I kept brake checking him. He was livid.
I pulled into a post office with like 3 cop cars in it and he followed me in there! I parked next to a cop car and he drove off. I thought for sure I was about to get shot.
He had a lifted old truck and looked very redneck. Context clues led me to believe he was carrying a weapon
