I've got $250 in Academy gift cards. What's the best scope under $500?

I'll probably go with a Leupold but I'm not sure which one. I hope to be getting my X-bolt soon and I'd like to put it on there

Why go with a lower end Leupold? If you're looking to spend less than $500 on a scope, take a look at the Nikon Pro-staff series. Awesome scopes, and can't beat the price.

I got one for my brother last year and loved it. Gonna be the next scope I get for sure.

I figured $500 could get me a decent Leupold.

Leupold VX-R 3-9X40 It has the firedot reticle and is great in low light conditions. I have the 2-7 model on my 300 blackout. One of the best scopes I own.

Vari-X 2 is in the $300-400 range and are a step above the Nikon Prostaffs in clarity and durability.

Vortex wouldn't be a bad scope either.

Stay away from a Ziess in that price you're paying twice as much for a "Z" on the side than the glass itself.

Best thing is can tell you, sell those gift cards to someone else and put this on. LINK

Better chech with them before you get your hopes up. Last time I had some Visa universal gift cards, Academy would only accept one per transaction.

Can't go wrong with this scope. I have it on my deer rifle. Super clear. Great zoom. Even better in low light.
