This was one of my favorite games to bet.

I love laTech, if they come to play, they crush Illanoy. In bowl season, that is always the question, did team come to play? Or did they play their game at the amusement parks and parties for the bowl?

2012, so not very long ago. I know I'm a homer, but I really would be shocked if Tech doesn't cover this spread. Illinois is not a good football team and Tech is a very good football team this year. It will be a very pro tech crowd too so essentially a home game for the Bulldogs

I agree that La Tech probably should win. However, the whole "Illinois is not good" narrative isn't convincing enough when discussing betting on a football game. Illinois still has P5 athletes, something that La Tech doesn't see week in and week out.

Illinois has solid wins. They beat NW, Minnesota, and PSU. These teams aren't great, but they are all better wins than anything on La Tech's schedule.

La Tech does have some impressive wins over ULL and WKU, but B1G > Fun Belt.

Illinois also closed the season strong which they can carry into this bowl game. Their motivation should be good with their 1st bowl game in 3 years.

I would take La Tech SU, but I don't want to lay points against a P5 team that has played well recently (relatively speaking) and has some intangibles working in their favor.

Tech beat that Illinois arse a couple of years ago - I mean it was a beat down.

But I think Illinois is playing better the last few weeks......and injuries / grade problems have depleted LaTech.

I think Illinois runs the ball - does not give up big plays and wears LaTech down to get a game winning TD on the last drive of the game.
