Which bullet would you recommend between Nosler accubond and Barnes TSX?

All thing being equal (bullet weights, etc)

Looking a 110 gr for a 6.8spc. I don't have any experience with either.

Will be used for mainly deer and some hogs. 20 inch barrel.

I like the TSX. Both will get the job done but I am partial to all copper.

TSX is the best I've found, a Hornady GMX is comparable.

If you're going with a Nosler see if they have partitions.

I much prefer the accubond, but mainly because I shoot a .35 whelen and the Barnes and Hornady are 180 grains and my tc encore hates them. Moved to a 225 grain accubond and its right around moa, which is plenty fine by me. The 180's were 4-5inches all over the place.

I hunt 120g SST out of my 6.8 - if I switched it would be SSA 110g TSX manufactured by Wilson Combat

Barnes TSX/TTSX is best hunting bullet on the market. With that said, Nosler Accubond may very well be second best.

Hey bbvdd nice gun you built by the way!
I think accubond you are considering at the 6.8 velocities is probably a little more versatile than the tsx, i shoot a 150gr ttsx out of a 300 ultra mag and on deer it's an A+,
on hogs not so much, I shot a 305lb boar through the vitals and it didn't blow through like i would have expected.

I reload mainly the accubond and it performs great! I know of 4 or 5 more that reload the accubonds with no complaints. You won't go wrong with either one.

I have been leaning toward the TSX but I'll just buy a couple of boxes of each and see how they shoot out of my gun.

And thanks .300. It's been fun. I have to get out and shoot it now.

Should be a really good round. Have not hunted with it yet.

Many more choices in 6.8 vs other common AR rounds.

Just finished this one:

what's the better ballistics for deer and hog say up to 200 yds? 7.62x39, 6.8 spc, or 300 AAC?

All I use at stands where shots are under 200 - I love it - I run a 1x4 burris on mine which also allows for both eyes open shooting when running dogs - very effective round, ver very accurate.

Probably the 6.8.

7.62x39 just doesn't have many choices in hunting bullets.

Really not sure about the .300 though.

Another to consider is the 6.5 creedmore.

The 6.8 was developed to extend the effective range of the AR out to 500 meters from about 300-400 meters

check out www.rareammo.com There seems to be a few decent hunting rounds for the 7.62x39. The tradeoff I guess is that you get a bigger bullet with the 7.62, but more velocity with the 6.8.

Bump. I'm close to buying an AK. Why should I get a 6.8 spc over it?

Get an AK unless you want to strictly hunt with the gun. 7.62x39 is cheap as hell to shoot and will drop a hog like a sack of potatoes. You can get AK ammo for like 25 cents per round.

On a side note, my FIL has a 6.5 Grendel in an AR platform. That is one bad arse round. Very good long range hunting round.

I've had some trouble with the Barnes fouling after a couple shots in my son's 7-08. Didn't have that problem with the AB. Both were accurate.
