Implies something that doesn't exist, therefore a false impression. In order to get "hotter" it would first have to be hot, a situation that has never been the case for Miles at LSU.

IMHO the only way one could consider not being one of the four best teams in the country underperforming would be if both Hawkins and Vadal return and we get significant improvement from the QB position.

And even then one would have to consider other things such as how relatively healthy we are and how scheduling plays out in regard to who the best teams may turn out to be on our schedule next year.

All in all, I think too many qualifiers to make that leap. But Top 10? If the dominoes above fall favorably for us, I think not achieving that standard might be considered disappointing.

I keep hearing ppl say we're going to be loaded etc etc. Does that mean everybody expects a playoff run? And if not how much hotter does Miles seat get?

There are some positions you can afford to be massively deficient in and still overcome it to be successful.

QB isn't one of those. In fact, it's the LEAST of all positions that you can overcome ineptitude.

Anyone predicting solid QB work from us next year is completely operating on hope. As such, anyone "expecting" the playoffs next year is out to lunch.

YES. If LSU somehow finds a QB it has a really good shot at going to the playoffs.

Yes! But there will be fans on here saying it's ok because we won 10 games. This team is loaded and there is no reason why they should lose a game next year. Too many questions for the other SEC teams. All the top teams lose a lot on both sides of the ball. If we don't do it next year then Les Miles will never make it to a MNC game again.

I remember this attitude going into the 2010 season, then 2011 happened.

I don't believe missing the playoffs would be underperforming, but that doesn't mean that Miles seat would start to get a little warm.

Our fate in 2015 is going to rest solely on the shoulders of our QB play. If it is poor, we will not make the playoffs. I don't believe any rational fan would say that it is playoffs or bust next year, but that doesn't absolve Miles from some of the blame for the lack of production at the QB position.

You can't honestly believe this, right? We have a huge question mark at QB for us next year. This kind of expectation is asinine.

2010 Jefferson 114.7 QBR
2011 Jefferson 138.7 QBR
2012 Mettenberger 128.3 QBR
2013 Mettenberger 171.4 QBR

Yep. Nothing but blind hope

Why? If AJ can complete 50% or more of his passes we win. Is that being unrealistic? But on the other hand, if he don't, that tells me Les Mile stuck with his guy to the bitter end and it will cost us yet another MNC. When will this finally become unacceptable?

In a word....yes.....it would be underachieving, but as long as Miles is our HC, we won't get there.

JJ in 2010 and Mett in 2012 were so much better than AJ this year it's embarrassing. JJ completed 56% of his passes. Mett completed 58%.
