I remember that Sugar Bowl, got lucky, cousin got me on the field. Mike's cage, parked inside the Superdome itself, was covered with tarps and whatever it's rigged with to keep him warm on the trip back to Baton Rouge.

You've actually got everything wrong.

It's snowed on both New Years DAY and Christmas.

New Orleans had a freaking white Christmas in 2004.

Yeah .. If memory serves, it wasn't even in the forecast .. Just cold rain .. I remember how cold it was on Canal before the game .. We hadn't been to the Sugar or any major bowl in 15 years, so the weather was not a

On the way home, the flakes and intensity just got bigger starting in Gonzales. My yard was completely white when I got home .. I was at a bonfire the night of the Snow Bowl .. We were just getting flurries here, but seeing the frozen tundra of Shreveport on TV was surreal ..

Hard to believe this was all pre-Tigerdroppings ..

Kinda surprised that this isn't catching more attention than it is. Seriously doubt anything will come of it though. Its is the GFS and the long range (9-10 days out)Models have been back and forth since this past weekend showing some kind of winter precip during this timeframe. Then no sooner its gone the next few runs and we're left with warm and wet or cold and dry. This is the heaviest and longest duration I've seen so far. If more models start to latch on and they are still showing a threat come this weekend, has the potential to get real ugly.

I'll believe it when I see it. This stuff is always wrong. 9 days out? LOL. I don't even look until 2 days bc it will change ten times that week.

Oh I agree. I know its fantasy land and that's the same attitude I have regarding models around here for severe weather and hurricanes, been burned way too many times. Just like all the cat 5 hurricanes the gfs spins up every year in the gulf and makes a direct on LA. Its just something you don't see everyday around here even if long range, and its nice to look at for the winter

That snow event in 2004 was incredible. Some places along the coast in Texas got a foot of snow. It even snowed in Brownsville.

New Years Day in 2002 was a much smaller event and it depended on where you were. Shenandoah and Ascension got hammered but north of there didn't get much.

What do the latest models show? Still ice and snow? Has it shifted to rain again?
