Actually, the matchup will probably provide much better ratings than may have been expected prior to the teams participating being determined
The game was going to be played at 2:00 pm on Tuesday one way or the other. I know this might come as a shock to many LSU fans but A. the college football world does not revolve around LSU, and B. this is not a "marquee" bowl game. ESPN knows this isn't going to be one of its highest rated bowl games. However, I bet they are ecstatic that LSU/ND will likely bring in many more viewers than they generally expected for the Music City Bowl.
It is a "win" for everyone but LSU/ND fans that have to work that day

While this is true, it is also true that some things have earned to be complained about. The day/time of this game is terrible for ALOT of fans.

It works out great for me. I will be back in time for my regular New Years celebrations and will be able to get a ride back to Houston. Also the early game time will allow ample beer consumption after the game while checking out cool spots in Nashville.

I still had a half day of vacation I needed to take or i would lose it. Problem solved. I'll get home in plenty of time.

LSU was the 7th best team in the SEC this year. What do the fans expect, that LSU be put in the Orange Bowl just because the Music City Bowl will be played in the middle of a work day?
