It's not "cool" to smoke weed now that there are no repercussions for doing so. I've always said that the only people who think drinking until you're blackout drunk or smoking weed are fun are those under the age of 25.

so why do so many people who are older than 25 smoke weed?

I would think that other harder drug use among teens would also fall. The gateway drug excuse never made much sense to me. Marijuana is not the gateway the drug dealer is the gateway. Most teens dont start off smoking crack. They gain access to a dealer and start off on marijuana then move on to try harder drugs. If the black market for marijuana is closed it seems imo that this may stem the use of harder drugs. I'm sure others will disagree.

Smoking weed IS fun...but maybe not as fun when it isn't illegal anymore

Seriously, this. It's an addiction. (As he posts on the internet.).

My point. That's the reason less kids do it in states where it's legal. Because teenagers like to be rebellious and smoking weed is no longer illegal.

I guess my point is that you can enjoy MJ every now and then responsibly. It doesn't have to be all or nothing, just like with alcohol.

I may have worded my post wrong. I didn't mean to say it wasn't fun. Just that it's only fun for a lot of people because they're not supposed to be doing it.

Same with watching porn while your wife is out getting groceries.

dunno if this was a serious or joking comment but there is some real truth in there imo.

i think a good bit of drug use stems from boredom like someone mentioned on page 2

it was much easier to get weed than alcohol in HS. this is 100% true

Guess it depends on where you live. Back when I was a teen in the 80's there was a liquor store not far from where I lived that would sell to anyone tall enough to see over the counter.

(My sincere apologies to those I just offended by making this thread all about me)

That's more of a case of when you lived as opposed to where.

yeah, in the 80s when the drinking age was 18, getting booze was easier.

I was in HS when they switched it from 18 to 21 (in texas). AS soon as they raised the drinking age, it got a lot harder to get. Marijuana was always about the same difficulty, you would have pretend to like some dbag for an hour while he drove to buy pot and skim a gram off of it.

It never was a problem for me to get weed in HS. I had 4 or 5 different sources to get weed from. Granted like you said, most of the time you had to deal with 6 gram $40 quarters, but that quickly ended when I got out of high school and found some decent sources.

But it also wasn't a problem for me to get alcohol either since I also had 4 or 5 sources (my relatives and my friends' relatives) for that.
