I don't think so. I try to post and let things fester a while before I go back.

your limited brain is what it is, it's like asking why you fail so hard every time you post,
you just do!

I'm just guessing, but I feel really good about this one.

That's what I'm saying in my post. Everyone has the right to free speech, but that individuals must take responsibility for the great power and responsibility that right comes with. Freedom of speech is a double-edged sword with no hilt. There is no truly safe way to hold it. We must cherish it, protect, but acknowledge that what we say is not without consequence in the public arena.
Just look at media figures who make racist comments. Sure, they are free to make them, but they are not free from ridicule.
Every other week there is some corporate executive in trouble for his insensitive remarks on social media. Do they not face scrutiny?
Do media figures no longer issue retractions for putting out incorrect information?
Well, there's your problem. The media no longer fact-checks the narrative so much as they dictate the narrative. The media does not report on the story, they want to be the story and shape it to make it their own. They don't hold politicians accountable, they hold their water for them.
Should they, both the media and political figures not be held accountable?

You know the fact that New York cops seem to think the mayor crossed the line is pretty telling. Awhole lot more than what any of us think. Im pretty certain they have cause.

Telling of what? You think the NYPD is the first police department (or organization in general) to respond defensively and negatively to scrutiny or criticism?
That's pretty fricking rich.

Honest question, FT. Are you back off the wagon for the holidays?
Posted on 12/23/14 at 11:30 am to Navytiger74
A little. But not right now, or really much recently. I've been behaving for the most part.

If you don't believe in free speech for people you despise, you don't believe in free speech at all
I'm not going to even touch that non sequitur. My statement speaks for itself, either you believe in free speech or you don't. Which camp or you in?

We already have incitement laws on the book, and anyone who think's that De Blasio, Obama or Holder were guilty of it, don't understand what incitement is. Here's Allen West assistant and radio talk show host Joyce Kaufman engaging in right wing incitement and here's Michael's Brown's stepfather engaging in left wing incitement.

It's hilarious how some of these cats think they are so above the fray. FT, Navytiger, etc.
