It was alright. I'm not an expert on the bible but I'm certain that a lot of that shite was just made up.

I usually take 2 minutes to check rotten tomatoes user reviews before I commit to watching something for 2 hours. It had a 40% approval rating which is just terrible. So its safe to say ill never watch that Hollywood scam of a movie.

It wasn't that bad if you can accept that movies almost always deviate from the book. Sticking to the bible, the Noah story takes all of two pages, so it wouldn't have been much of a movie.

I liked it.

It seems the majority of the hate was because it didn't follow how people's felt the story should go due to religious belief as opposed to the story of its own merits.

I remembered thinking while watching it that there will be many a preacher railing against the notion of a segment of fallen angels who fell for disobeying God with the best of intentions rather than the stereotypical personification of evil.

And don't even get me into the how Noah going back and forth on if he should kill the human race would put a bad taste in the mouth of many adherents.

It sounds more like fantasy than anything. I might need to check this out.

I hate it on its own merits.

The current Exodus movie takes liberties with the Old Testament but it's still an entertaining film.

Noah was just crap. If it was an original story and had nothing to do with the Bible it would still be crap.

I didn't say it was an indisputably great film.

I said the majority of the hate was because of the direction of liberties it took.

See: the derisive mentioning of the angels/rock golems that occur in EVERY thread about this movie. Literally the only basis for being derogatory to their inclusion is from a bias to the original story.

They are no more absurd (and less absurd than many) elements of movies today that goes without comment.

I enjoyed it. Not the best movie ever made and not in keeping with the bible, but a fun 2 hour bit of entertainment. Given my love for last stands, the rock creatures last stand and resulting redemption was my favorite part.

Ummm. It's based on a biblical story except the only similarities are the animals and an ark.

I think I just like fantasies that take themselves very seriously and am not overly fond of those that are closer to comedies than fantasies. That would explain why I love Man of Steel and enjoyed Noah but hated Guardians of the Galaxy. Noah was not at all boring to me. I even watched it 2 or 3 times on Blu Ray.

It's good for what it was, taken as just entertainment. Liked how it gave some insight in how people lived that long ago. Not many movies are set in that era
