The retail connection really comes into play for me. Sadly, I've begun to hate all the holidays I used to love. It's definitely not just Christmas. Easter, mothers day, father's day, memorial day, 4th of July, labor day, thanksgiving. I have to kill myself in the store, then have little energy to devote to family.

While I see your point, I'd still have a job. The butcher always has a job. People eat meat year round, they just eat much more of it on holidays. So, I'd still have a job, but maybe paid less. That would also suck.

I personally can't stand Christmas. I have kids now and I do it for them and that part makes me happy but the rest of it sucks. I'm very happy once it's over.
