Maybe they try to convince Aldridge to take a discount?

This is his peak, he's not taking a discount at his peak.

Nah, Aldridge already said he's signing the max this offseason with them.

Yeah. I doubt he would settle for less and I'm not saying he should either.

But 2 max contracts, Batum at $12M then UFA, and Lopez getting a bump to the $10-12M range is a lot for 4 players, even with a huge cap. And none of those guys will be over paid either. I guess they get saved because Aldridge's max is on a $66M cap.

Yeah, Matthews could be the odd man out.

That is what I said in another topic earlier this year.

They're keeping Aldridge and Lillard as their max contracts

Depending on how Meyers Leonard pans out while Lopez is gone, that will decide who they keep imo.

Lopez will be gone if Leonard plays well.
Matthews will be gone if Leonard plays poorly.

Batum might be traded for pieces if they think his play isn't needed and Matthews/Lopez is more important.

As much as I complain about the illogical basketball culture that does things like sitting players for foul trouble, its worlds ahead of football.

Yep. Very exciting times for NBA fans. There have been fundamental changes in how the game is played at that level the last few years. Lots of cool things happening and the basketball blogging community is the best IMO

And completely agree on football. Aside from a few guys, the NFL is just boring to me
