yea he struggled early with drops, but he has proven down the stretch he is still a viable option. Im pretty confident that colston will restructure his contract if that is why everyone wants to chop his head off.

Throughout this season he has had a couple of key mistakes at key times.

Definitely not the same player as in years past.

If he doesn't take a pay cut or restructure he's gone and I'm not sure the saints have the money to restructure. He's not a 9 million dollar WR and I'm pretty sure that's his salary next season.

He is not the same player. I would trust him over graham to make the big catch so he is still valuable

This whole team and staff should have to "restructure" and that includes our QB who some here seem to think is beyond reproach.

We are going to be $20 million over the cap before signing any new players to this train wreck and cutting him will be $4 million needed to just get to the cap.

I would think Brees has to restructure since he's going to count 26 mil against the cap but shoving more money to the back end is getting very precarious considering all the back end loaded deals.

The same reason Brees gets blasted despite being the only player on our team who gives us a chance to win week in and week out - a certain amount of people on this board are spoiled, petulant bitches who lack any amount of perspective.

Dude he's close to a 10 million payday do you think he's that good? That's elite WR pay. He either takes a MASSIVE cut our gets out. That simple really.

He's still a good receiver an I'd like to see him stay but 9 million dollars a year is way too much for him. We could pay that for a Josh Gordon

Brees restructure is okay because when he's gone this team is fricked anyway so you backload all you can on him. He's not going anywhere.

True, just when you think Colston is done he seems to rise from the dead.... He doesn't get much help other than Stills and Cooks but with Cooks being hurt, there's not much left in the litter to scare anyone... Toon is just another everyday reciever that doesn't possess enough speed and Meachem is just a spectator with speed to go deep that Bree's can't reach when open....we all know when Meachem is in the game what's up..... Definitely could use another threat with speed but also courage to catch the ball and get open....BUT, it does start with the offensive line protecting the QB which the saints lacked all year....

Brees wont restructure to the back end because he knows he wont make it. His deep arm is already failing him.

You definitely explore restructuring and try to get him to take the league minimum. If not you thank him for years of service put his name in the Superdome ring of honor and release him. At the end of the day this is a business and this teams run is done. Time to clean up the salary cap mess and start rebuilding.

As many have pointed out, it has more to do with his contract/cap hit next year then anything, but...

he struggled early with drops

Be honest with yourself, how many times did you have to say this during the year? I can think of at least 6 weeks where I saw threads w/ people defending Colston bc of an "uncharacteristically" bad game with drops or fumbles? After how many weeks does it switch from uncharacteristic to the norm?
