On right now. But I'm a little perturbed with the "sing a long" text. No self respecting lady or gay man wouldn't know the words to "My Favorite Things". Bastards have to sully everything.

Being a straight guy, I know I'm not supposed to like this movie.

But it's one of my favorites of all time.

You know its based on a true story right? The famlly had to escape the nazi regime with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Very loosely based.

They did not have to escape - there was no "you join the Nazi party or else" demand. Also, they did not climb the Alps to Switzerland. They took a train to Italy, and then came to America to fulfill a contract for appearances here. Nothing was done in secret.

Also, Maria came to live with the family in the 1920s and they had been married 11 years before leaving.

Still pretty high on my Oscar moment list, especially because Plummer is such a smug sunovabitch.
