Also I think it was 1994 the city earned the title "murder capital of the free world" and the thugs loved that moniker and took it to heart so in 1995 we actually had double the murders as 94'. It was insane and a killing field to say the least.

You realize I can and do ride my bike all over the city now(don't really go downtown/nine) in spots that in 94' I couldn't even stop at stop signs? shite my running route puts me through the old melph and he melp high rise and I don't even blink an eye. Wouldn't have dreamed of doing that in 94'
The OT would be scared to walk down Freret pre-Katrina. Now they can't afford to live there.

I think he was talking about all of NOLA, not just Bourbon, and he moved to Bunkie to escape the black people shooting everyone.

Don't chastise me for my life choices. I just happen to prefer safety and wholesomeness to violence and sin.

Then his fears of his children being shot are still unrealistic, teetering on paranoid.

And Bunkie is the first "safe" place you found after crossing the Orleans Parish line? Give me a break. If your grandparents gave you 40 acres and a mule in the metropolitan Bunkie area, good for you, but don't say you moved to Bunkie because of the violence in NO. It makes you look stupid, not cautious.

I'd still like to know what street you were living on that was so terrible and how long ago you fled the violence. You sound full of shite.

And they could sing songs about following the drinking gourd while they worked, they would love it!

I'm sorry I offended you so deeply with my personal choice to leave New Orleans. Are you the mayor or something?
