I once read a fascinating study that said a single unemployed mom living in NYC with 1 child and no husband is eligible for benefits equivalent to $15 an hour based on a 40 hour work week. What job could she possibly get that replaces that amount of welfare? Choosing not to work at all makes perfect financial sense for her.

I've read the optimal income to maximize benefits is around 32k or so for a single mom or small family. After that, it's a waste of effort to make more money because you just start losing some benefits and will be no better off.

I think you're a moron who drinks the media koolaid and has little ability to actually think for yourself.

Where in that range do idiots fall? I'd just like to know how to characterize you.

This is going to sound racist, but the problem isn't necessarily whites losing power/wealth/influence/"grip." Rather it's the fact that quality of life isn't a zero-sum game. As whites' quality of life slips, so does every other race's in America. It's not like other races (maybe some Asians) are going to gain quality of life. Their subjugated, subsidized lifestyles will suffer proportionately.

Well if one studies the past and uses it for betterment, it isn't an excuse. But it one just gives up because his grandfather was discriminated against, that's an excuse.
Kids growing up don't have the self-awareness to know their place in history. They are just living each day in the moment.

And that's when they are shaped into the person they will become as an adult.

Middle class people have parents who will force them to do what they need to do to succeed because they don't have the self-discipline as a kid to know that they need to do well to set them up for the future.

Many poor black kids don't have that and their future is gone and they don't even know it until it's too late.

I agree. And that's why I think good parents are more important than pop culture messages (like Sesame Street) or Early Childhood Education (trying to counter dysfunctional home life).

When mom says "Ya gotta take care you bidness and whup they arse" no amount of govt intervention is gonna make that kid grow up to be a success.

So the dumb shite cocksucker who kills a couple of cops to make a statement runs out and kills an Asian and Hispanic.

Not only is the country going to Hell, it is awash in stupidity of an unimaginable magnitude.

There are a lot of white progressive leftists who have been pushing this"unfair America" agenda for years, now that they have gotten a lot of the political change they think they want. As things get worse and not better for them, they need a new focus of blame, a shift in their philosophy that explains why their answers aren't working.

"hmmm geee, how could George Bush mess things up so bad that we can't fix it"? Most of them just aren't very bright.

ALL lives should matter. But life is what you make of it. No matter who you are. If you try to better yourself, you probably will. If you run with thugs and scum and blame others for your plight instead of working hard and trying to move up, your life will probably suck.

Ok, this has been my mindset for years and years

This is accurate. Life is what you make it and for the most part you will achieve what you desire.

quote:

...but as I listen to liberal people who argue back, I am trying go beyond the simple. 2 and 2 is 4. The truth is, if you are born into a poor community and all you know is a certain way of living and thinking (surviving) do you not become your environment? This is normal in your eyes. yet you know it's not right by America's standard of living thus you grow feeling betrayed and undervalued with little hope. So we need to have compassion on poor minority children as well as having a righteous anger towards repeated sins that continue to harm generations. All of this goes back to the sins committed by whites who formed this great nation. They were just sinfully wrong. We have it right now, but the consequences are for us to deal with. Where does this leave us? It leaves very divided, frustrated because we lack understanding of one another. We must seek to understand the behavior that is obviously wrong or unlawful.

Your a damn idiot for buying into that bullshite. Me as a white person am not responsible for what a small fraction of white people did years ago. Was the past wrong sure no one will deny that. But black people today have no reason to be pissed about something years ago that happened to someone that has the same color as them, that's insane. This crap won't end until society quits enabling the behavior of these thugs.

I know I know, I will be called a racists.....so what!!!

Left wing philosophy is always based on some belief in an unjust society so no matter what changes are made, there will always be something to crusade. It will never end.

The loss of power will never be met with joy, and the white majority in this country, to which I belong, is absolutely going to lose some of it's control over the country's direction. The reaction to that lose over the coming decades probably won't be a positive influence, but people will come to accept the new power structure.

It isn't going to change much. White isn't a philosophy so I'm sure the overall affect on the average Joe will be minimal. It has far more to do with economic status than race.

Of course not.
It's the poor gullible white voters who trusted him and bought his "there's no Red State or Blue State".

And sometimes someone can rise to the occasion. Harry Truman did so when FDR died.

People missed that Obama said he wanted to fundamentally transform America.

Again I ask, why do want to fundamentally transform something you love?

If there is a "good part" in this equation it is that the whites who "suffer most" will be those progressive leftists. Gotta love irony in action.

You nailed it. A lot of black people teach and raise their kids to be victims. They are ingrained with that victim mentality. Until this cycle is broken things will never change.

If hispanics aren't able to significantly increase their level of education and adjust to a knowledge based economy, which they may do, their uneducated immobile mass will make liberalism untenable. I really want them to do well, and we need them to, but they're going to have to do much better.

It's one thing to be comfortable in your own skin, understanding what you believe, and why you believe it. It's entirely another to hold beliefs so insecurely that one feels need to couch or misrepresent them.

Care to define "all pear shaped"?
