Getting busted for child porn, touching kids, or something like this, about 20 years ago?

I seem to remember something like this in the early 90's. I don't see anything on Google.

I might be wrong, but I seem to remember something.

If it was in the news it can, but this was pre-interweb.

I do have a recollection of something along those lines although my memory is not as good as it used to be. A good Googling might turn up something actually reliable.

Yeah. I remember this very specifically. It was in the paper and my dad told my mom Mr. Messenger was a pedophile. I'd never heard the word before, and my mom got pissed at my dad for saying it in front of me. Neither of them would tell me what it meant. So, I bugged my older brother for an hour to tell me and he finally told me it meant he was a "kiddie diddler." I didn't know what that meant either. So the next day I got in trouble at school for calling someone a kiddie diddler. And my mom got pissed at my dad again. My dad got pissed at my brother. And I was punished for using words I didn't know the meaning of.

ETA: Also, I believe the word incest was used as well. Didn't know that one either.

I am wondering if it was the grandfather, the one that started the lights in the 60's, because I seem to remember it was a old man (back in the 90's)

My mother in law was talking about this last year. I knew nothing about it. I remember my parents taking us to the Messengers when it was still in Baton Rouge. Was it off N. Sherwood?

Drunkenpunkin, that made me
It made me think of us eating dinner one night at the table and my little brother asked my dad what a virgin was. We all looked up from our meal and dad said "he said stergeon, it's a fish"

The grandfather was accused/convicted of molesting one of the neighbor kids in Red Oaks neighborhood.
The girl was mentally unstable, and many of the neighbors didn't think it was true.
He was, however, put on probation.
I know this from a friend who worked at Probation and Parole in the early 90's.

The Messenger family babysat many of the kids in the neighborhood over the years, and that was the only case ever.

I've never heard anything about kiddie porn.
This was pre-Internet, so kiddie porn wasn't as rampant back then.
That old man would've had to have VHS or BETA tapes to collect porn.

I don't recall the grandfather being a molester, but I can remember him telling me it was OK to touch his North Pole. He really did have a frozen pole out in the display.

Seriously, I know some of the Messenger kids and they are good people.

I know several of the grandkids also.
Good people, but I wonder what's up with "Cat Daddy"
He's a DJ for a hip-hop station in the Dallas area

Cat Daddy Make it Stop

CatDaddyBio
Whaaaaa!! You can smell the flava through the radio, its Cat Daddy from K104FM. Working in the drive thru at Mcdonalds at the age of 17, Cat Daddy was discovered by a program director and given a shot on the airwaves. As a student at Baton Rouge Magnet High Cat daddy had the opportunity to run “classic soul” music on KBRH as an elective. Talkin’ up records from Sam Cook, Al Green, and The Supremes gave Cat Daddy the necessary game to graduate onto the all new Max94.1. Cat Daddy spiced up the late-nite in Baton Rouge, playing hip-hop on WEMX, and grew a habit of splashing hot sauce on the radio like holy water. Cat Daddy got radio fever and it caught fire at K104 in Dallas/Ft.Worth back in 2001 and the speakers are still on blaze. On-air, online, and in your face, Cat daddy visits schools, kid camps, neighborhoods, and niteclubs. Cat daddy preaches to the listeners “Dont see the show, be the show”. Tune in at nite from 7-12am and bump the latest hip-hop & RnB, call and request your favorite song, and win your way in to the hottest concerts and parties.

Catdaddy is a BR legend. He is married with a son and lives in Dallas. He is good friends with movers and shakers in dfw, including Mark Cuban.

He is a dignitary in Dallas.
