Word on twitter is that they are planning on sitting TY Hilton, Gosder Cherilus, Vontae Davis and possibly Reggie Wayne against Dallas even though all could probably play if they needed to. However, they are still going play Luck.

Now, it seems odd to me that you would rest four of your best players (including their best pass blocker) but still start your franchise QB. They clearly aren't worring too terribly much about winning this game, and given that they have a gimmee next weekend they are essentially locked into the third seed. It seems strange to me why they would play any important starters at this point. Besides, Luck is more likely to get hurt with backups around him.

It's probably more of those three guys have injuries they could probably play through but there is no point

Luck probably isn't in the same boat

Not technically, if they win out and NE or Denver loses out they could get a bye (wont happen, NE and Denver each have an easy win left). They could also fall to the fourth spot, but I think Cincy would have to win out and they would have to lose (and the difference between third and fourth isn't big unless both teams happen to advance to the title game).

Yup. No point in risking them.

Why aren't they benching Richardson? Dude has been money all year. I would hate to lose him for the playoffs.

Yeah they've basically conceded the bye week and said that there is no difference in the 3 and 4 seed essentially

Not a totally stupid plan unless the unlikely thing happens and NE/Den lose out and you look like an idiot

Not if the Bengals beat Denver. They rather go through Denver than New England. #3 seed is better.

New England is terrible, so they probably will.

Oh, you

Indy is playing the odds. They're more than likely locked in. Losing Reggie REALLY hurt them last year. Richardson sucks royal arse and losing Bradshaw killed the run game. Richardson has banged out 2.7 YPC since Bradshaw went down. Herron has been a plus but IDK if I trust him to be a 20 carry guy.

There really isn't a reason to risk TY and Reggie. Realistically, Indy is 3. Davis is a given as well. Don't want to risk it with him. Cherilus would be nice but at the same time you don't want to lose a solid OLineman.

Luck will find a way. Indy will be the 3-seed and they'll lose in the 2nd round.

maybe Luck has some sort of bonus based on plays or production and they don't want to risk angering him or his agent by sitting him and having him miss out on some extra cash.

All of those players are injured or old. That's why they'd sit out.

The colts will probably still beat the Cowboys. This is a quintessential Ivy League shite the bed in December game.

Nice link.

Also, Twitter is still the internet, so let's not take it as gospel.
