For men it doesn't matter.

For women, it's all that matters.

I make a pretty good living, but the industry my wife is in pays big time. She just got her bonus and it was twice what my annual compensation is. I'm not complaining.

None because she makes a lot of money so I don't think about it at all.

It's not that bad for me but put it here brother

Really takes the pressure off the whole "provide for the family" thing.

Education is more important than income, IMO.

For instance, I'd date/marry a teacher making 40k over a welder making 80k.

I've dated a hairstylist in the past and her lack of ambition bothered me. I'm married to a future Dr.

Yes, I like the finer things in life

Basically, you don't want to date a moron, and I don't blame you, it is awful. A Dr.? Looks like you did what you had to do.

I'm dating a teacher and have no issue with it despite the disposition of this board.

If she sucks she sucks (or not for you). You shouldn't stick around for that. But being a lawyer you'll be around other professionals, and as long as you don't dumpster dive you'll end up with a good girl who makes cash. It's all about not being a dumbass and going for the hot bartender. And patience too.

I wouldn't marry a Dr. just because she was a Dr. As long as you make a solid salary it shouldn't matter, unless she's bringing in 20k or something.

As I said, I'd marry for intelligence over income.

I bet that hairstylist was better in the sack than that boring future doctor you're married to

Feel the same way. It seems like once you're a professional it's much easier to meet and date other professionals.

I worry more about how much debt she has outside of student loans than i do about how much money she makes. Credit card debt is a sure sign of poor financial decision making.

Teachers:

A) Make good money for the amount of time they put in (don't let them convince you otherwise) but like playing the victim card
B) Get great vacation time which means, actually getting to take vacation

No one should have a problem dating one, unless they make a martyr out of themselves all the time, which just puts them in the annoying category.

I've always prided myself on being able to take care of my woman. Had no interest in career-oriented women. After 19 years, finally gave up the fight and let my wife go to work.
