I agree that 11-7 is a benchmark but I don't think 13-5 and 14-4 is out the realm of possibility

Meh, too many loose ends with how the team plays for me to call it reasonable. Can we tie those up? Possible but not probable IMHO.

11-7 in the SEC might get you a home game in the NIT. Maybe.

It depends on several factors, including how well teams like WVU and UMASS and others do the rest of the year and who we beat and lose to in our conference games, but I think the chances are better than not that 11-7 gets us if we close out the OOC, and with an SEC tourney win increasing that chance.

A team with 7 SEC losses is going to have at least a handful of pretty bad losses. That's a given.

Certainly, which is why you need to balance that with some good wins. How WVU and UMASS do and who we beat in our SEC schedule to balance that matters as well as how bad those handful of bad losses are. Will they be to Ms. State or Mizzou?

I think 22-9 with 11-7 gives us a better chance than not, especially with an SEC tournament win. Hell, we were in the discussion a lot longer than I thought we would be last year, even after the Rhode Island debacle. 11-7 very likely would have gotten us in.

If you have actual good wins (Kentucky, Florida? Arkansas?) in that hypothetical 11-7 record than you're just going to have even more bad losses, so yea maybe even MSU or Mizzou.

And I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything, I just really enjoy college basketball and all the tournament seeding/bubble talk

None taken, I enjoy it to. Look, Tennessee made it in last year at 11-7 and 20-11 with one SEC tourney win and only one OOC victory of note against Virginia.

Let's say our losses are Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Bama. We're in.

We beat one or two of those but lose to South Carolina or Mizzou. Maybe makes it a bit tougher, but probably still a good chance IMHO.

We're not that far off. I would think we both agree anything less than that we'll need a great SEC tournament and some luck.

All I'm saying is 11-7 gets us well into the discussion. Anything better is gravey and anything worse would be disappointing and probably NIT or less.

I think that the clemson lost is the exeception and not the rule. Keith wasnt balling early in the year like he is right now he's a big factor.

1 for 13 from three point land and ice cold shooting in general down the stretch produced the 3 pt. loss to Clemson out in Paradise. Cold shooting as well in the close loss to Old Dominion. Offensive execution has been better the past five games. Tighten up defense in the lane and block out more consistently and this team should easily top 20 wins for the season.

Absolutely. This team should be a tournament team, which simply means a top 45-48 team. Not achieving that would be a disappointment.

I think we will achieve that.
