I have the 4.5" 9MM and love it. Great shooting gun and does not miss feed at all.

Very good shooter and reliable.

There should always be one in the pipe. And you both should know how to use it. You being the only one who can properly operate a handgun is like leaving your wife with a car she does not know how to drive. Teach her that having a round chambered is normal and it won't go off on its own.

Then again, this thread is just about the XDm so I guess I won't delve too far into defensive handgun philosophy.

I love how just because my user name is Glock that my lesser opinion of XD's is dismissed. For the record, I've stated many times I like M&P's as well as Sig,s and even own a 1911. I just think the marketing machine around XD's has suckered a bunch of people into buying an over priced gun. When the XS2000 hit the markets, I believe it cost $299. I don't completely hate XD's I just think you can spend the same amount of money and get a much better quality gun.

I'm a Glock guy, but I own XDs. The pricing is comparable to Glock, and they're of very comparable quality, so are Glocks overpriced?

They really aren't.... just look locally around BR... how many law enforcement agencies carry XD's vs Glocks. They answer is they all carry Glocks and for good reason.

How is Glock superior?

Better finish, lower bore axis, better magazines, no crappy grip safety and better quality internals that don't break when rode hard.

Again, I don't think they are terrible guns, I just think they need to be in the $300-400 price range

another factor that i never see brought up is ease of disassembly and detail stripping. there are no other handguns (imo) that break down to bare bones easier than a glock.

mix that with the amount of aftermarket support and ability for customization and its tough to beat

just ordered a Zev slide for my 17 20 minutes ago

Go ahead and find a better deal than this on a higher quality gun.
XD-9 4" w/free shipping - $349

Ok. The exact same thing can be said about a Glock, that has at least a $100 higher price point.

I have the XDM 4.5" 9mm and love it. The minimal recoil feels like your shooting a .22, which is what I enjoy being a rookie shooter. It is also very easy to break down and clean. I would highly recommend it to others.

While I do respect your weapon coating skills I must say I am a disappoint.

The Croatians have made great guns throughout history, all while wearing track suits and drinking.

Personally, if I were to go polymer 9mm...it would be the M&P. But keep in mind I shoot 1911's so I prefer the M&P grip angle and even the manual safety.

Duly noted. I guess that's why it's just an opinion right?

If you're thinking about using it for concealed carry or self-defense, I have one word of advice.
